- Crokinole Tournaments: Coverage and Upcoming Events
Quite a few tournaments have gone by since our last newsletter, and the world of competitive crokinole is only getting busier in the coming months. Take a look at our overview below, as well as everything that is coming up in the next few months.
A Historic Crokinole Performance by Devon Fortino
The 2025 Turtle Island Championship went down this past weekend, and in the finals we saw Devon Fortino rematch against Shawn Hagarty in the final. These two last faced off at the World Championship Final, where Hagarty took the victory and the World Title. We all knew that Fortino was going into that match looking for redemption: what we didn’t know is that he would make history.
The game was 6 rounds, in which Fortino took the victory with a final score of 10-2 over Hagarty. Fortino shot 48 shots… and score 46 20s.
Fortino had a 100% success rate of open 20s, going 43 for 43, hit 3 backboards, with only 2 of his shots not ending up in the cup. 5 perfect rounds, and a historic crokinole performance that has fans in awe and the rest of the top players wondering: what will it take to beat Devon Fortino.
Normally, we’d post tournament matches chronologically, but given the magnitude of this match, we have it out now for everyone to witness history. Give it a watch, and see the crokinole performance of a lifetime.

Crokinole Tournament Coverage With the World Championship footage done, we are back to covering events from the 2025-26 National Crokinole Association Season! First up we have the Texas State Crokinole Championship, hosted by the Extra Pint Crokinole Club in Dallas, Texas. Ryan Buhr travelled down for this Tier 3 event and took the victory in the final after a hard fought battle against Justin Frerich! This is the first time we’ve featured a trick shot in our newsletter, and this shot certainly deserved the spotlight. It was the quarterfinal round at the North Star Cup, a match between Mark Harper and Patrick Ten Eyek. For some context: any follow through 20 shot is impressive; any 20 off of a post is impressive; hitting a follow through into a post for the 20 is mind-blowing. “But Garret, that sounds like a fluke”. I would agree, except Harper called the EXACT shot before hitting it! Watch the shot here Upcoming Crokinole Tournaments The 2025-26 National Crokinole Association tour is already underway, and there are a plethora of tournaments to attend and compete at in the coming months.
