The Worlds Biggest Crokinole Board

On May 22nd, it was officially announced on the World Crokinole Championships FaceBook Page: we at Tracey Boards had built the Biggest Crokinole Board in the World.

Measuring in at 10 feet across and 285 pounds, Jeremy Tracey (owner of Tracey Boards) got to work building this board when he heard the World Crokinole Championships was looking for something big to put on display for their 25th tournament. Jeremy was originally inspired by Willard Martin, the builder who made Willard Boards for 30+ years before teaching Tracey everything he knew, who told him he try to build the Worlds Biggest Board. While it was Tracey’s mentor who put his mind on the idea, the 25th Anniversary of the World Championships was the final push. After months of workshopping, iterating, and building, Jeremy and his shop team (Reid & Chris) had pulled it off: a to-scale 10 foot crokinole board, ready to go on display at the 25th WCC.

With the cat out of the bag, we’ve had tonnes of questions pour in about this accomplishment – here are the most common questions we’ve received:

How do you play It?

Everything about this board is to scale: the centre hole, the posts, and the pieces. Given the shear size of it, shots will be taken with more of a shuffleboard style, with a slide from the top rather than a flick (we can’t stop anyone from trying a flick, but I wouldn’t recommend it). A board this size also presents a problem for one of the official NCA rules: mainly, the one cheek rule, which without extremely long rounded benches, goes out the window with this board.

Aside from those two rules (sliding from the top, and no cheek rules), gameplay works exactly the same as it would with normal crokinole play! And, we’ll have it laid out on the floor at the World Championships for people to try – which brings us to our next question:

How the HECK is that making it into the World Championships?

With a board of this size, normal doors aren’t an option. Luckily, the World Championships is hosted in the Tavistock Hockey Arena, with a Zamboni door connecting directly to the parking lot. So (here comes the most Canadian sentence in history), we’ll be able to haul the Worlds Biggest Crokinole Board in through the Zamboni Doors!

Is it a “Guinness” certified Worlds Biggest Board?

Not yet, no. As soon as the board was completed, we contacted Guinness, and are currently in the process of applying to have a certified world record. With that being said – we’re feeling pretty confident that we’ve got this in the bag, so stay tuned for more updates on this!

Where can I see it in-person?

The board will be on display at the World Crokinole Championships, on Friday June 5th and Saturday June 6th, 2026. Spectators are more than welcome to come by to watch the crokinole action, and encouraged to take photos with the Worlds Biggest Crokinole Board! So come on out to Tavistock, get some pictures with Crokinole history, and enjoy seeing crokinole at the highest level! As always, happy flicking.
